The winds have been mainly light out of the north, keeping the water temps cool and the seas calm. Both of those conditions make for great light tackle action in the shallow waters of Key West. Holidays in Key West!!!!

November fishing in Key West has been stellar. Our weather is about as perfect as you can get—light winds, clear skies, and high 70’s temps. Bait has been easier than past years making our days on the water fishing filled with action. The species we have been targeting, Jacks, Barracudas, Snappers, sharks, Cobia, etc have been eager to eat for us because of the cooling water temps. Early this week, here in Key West we experienced our first real cold front. The wind blew 20+ MPH and the temps dropped into the 60’s. That is now behind us and left us with perfect Winter time Key West fishing conditions. As the water temps drop it is going to start bringing in all those winter time species. Cobia, Jacks, Snappers, Barracudas and more are all on the menu now. Of course between cold fronts we still target our early morning resident Tarpon as well. The weather forecast looks amazing for the foreseeable future with light winds, clear skies, and warming temps.

As we move into November Fishing in Key West, things are changing. The first real cold front is upon us as I write this. That is going to fire up the inshore wintertime bite. October Key West Fishing and November Fishing Forecast

October fishng in Key West on the ShadowCaster has remained HOT!!!!! We love this time of year for the variety of species we can target. The weather is cooling and the so are the water temps. That brings in the bait and along with it the fish!!!! Barracudas are roaming the flats and they are among the top predators and the most fun you can have on light tackle. They are lightening fast, they often jump and will scream drag!!!! Snappers and Jacks are filling in the Channels and shallow rock piles. Early morning Tarpon are still a thing throughout the cooler months.
So theres a lot to do this time of year and I predict it’ll just get better as we approach our November and December fishing in Key West.
