October Fishing in Key West is the official change of seasons for what we Target. This is the ‘Variety” Season. Meaning, we target everything from 100lb Tarpon to 3lb Snapper and everything in between. We target all these species with live biat, dead bait, artificial lures (hard and soft plastics). The Fishing in Key West changes hourly due to tides, temps, weather, wind, lighting, etc. And we always have the proper bait and tackle for the current situation. WOW….The weather has been amazing. We had tons of rain at the start of the month and that cooled the water temps a great deal. That has brought in the bait, right on time. Pilchards and Pinfish are the name of the game and we pride ourselves on having plenty of them. As I am writing this Capt Justin just sent a pic of a Tarpon he just landed.

September fishing in Key West is off to a very WET start. Lots of rain!!!! We’ve been getting out in the AM before the storms hit and fishing has been great. The Fall bait is already showing up in the usual spots and that will be the key to success moving through the next couple months. We always take pride in our bait stocks, going the extra mile for our customers to make sure we are loaded with fresh live bait. Once this rain stops (expected to be this weekend, 9/6) the fishing is going to be on fire!!!

The Weather for the foreseeable future CANNOT get any better. Low chances of rain and super calm winds. This is the time of year we dream about!!!! The flat calm seas really allow us to get out there to places untouchable throughout the year due to the Winds. Not the case for the rest of this month and into September. The craziness of Mini Lobster Season is over and the crowds on the water have gone. That gives us plenty of options on where we can fish. And fishing has been great early in the morning or later in the afternoon to sunset. Winds are light during August and September Fishing in Key West and that helps for a great day on the water. Our targeted species vary greatly this time of year from Tarpon, Snappers, Sharks, Barracudas Etc.
