Spring Fishing 2025

Spring is our hands down favorite time to Fish in Key West. The Tarpon migration begins and the weather starts to warm up. April fishing in Key West kicks off our Tarpon season and the fish are showing up in the usual places. Fresh bait is the key and we are always on top of our bait game. We are offering a late afternoon/sunset Tarpon trip this year, which is prime feeding time for the Silver King.

Spring Tarpon Fishing is Heating up

We are fast approaching the time of year we all wait for: Tarpon Season. Tarpon, in my opinion, are the most sought after fish the shallow waters of The Florida Keys and Key West has to offer. April fishing in Key West really kicks off Tarpon Season and fish are starting to show up already. A nice SouthEast breeze is one of the keys to success as it brings in the warm temps that Tarpon love. Tarpon tend to feed in the morning and late afternoons/early evening. We are offering Tarpon Sunset trips from 5PM-9PM. A great way to maximize oppurtunities, beat the heat of the day and catch the sunset from the water.
April, May and June dates are filling up fast so get in touch today and we’ll get you Hooked Up!!!!!

Late February Fishing Key West

February Fishing in Key West has been great. We are seeing an abundance of Cobia this winter season. Cobia are a species that we will catch during the cooler months, but this year just seems to be over the top!!! Also, Tarpon are making thier way to Key West a little earlier than normal, with the really warm weather we have been having. Tarpon fishing should just continue to improve as we get into Spring and Early Summer. Tarpon are probably the most prized inshore fish in the Florida Keys.
Check out our Capt Bios here on the site!!!!!

First Cold Front Predictions

As I write this, we are experiencing our first significant Cold Front. This will Shake things up a bit for us. We should start to see the bait really move inshore and we will start to Target all our Winter Season Species. We are talking about Barracudas (the once underrated fish has become a shallow water favorite) Jacks, Snappers, Mackerels, BlackTip and Lemon Sharks. The list goes on…….

Tarpon Season in Full Swing

Tarpon Season is in Full Swing here in the Florida Keys. The weather has been on the windy side, but that is normal for April. As we move into May and June the winds tend to lay down and these Tarpon really settle in for their stay in the Key West waters. So, if you’ve never been lucky enough to get a chance at catching the Silver King—NOW is the time.

Start of Tarpon Season?????

Over the last 10 days we have been seeing more and more Tarpon showing up in the usual places. We’ve had a couple crummy weather days where we didn’t see any, but when the conditions are right we have been having success with them. It’s still a little early, but it has been reassuring to see them and look forward to the next few months of great Tarpon Fishing

Get in touch soon as our dates are filling up!!!!

Happy New Year 2024

Happy New Year—-This Holidays are past us and its a New Start to 2024. Things have kicked off great for us here at ShadowCaster Charters. The weather has been the typical winter pattern, with cold fronts moving through almost weekly. The cooler water temps have brought alot of the inshore species to some of the shallow reefs. We have been catching Snapper, Cobia, Grouper (although out of season, gotta release em), etc. For the die hard Tarpon fisherman, there are still resident Tarpon to target, but you gotta pick a good weather day.
Bookings are pouring in for our “season”, so get in touch and lets Go Fishing
