What time are the Trips?

We generally run  Morning and Afternoon trip​s. Trip time can vary slightly throughout the year, due to changes in conditions.   In the Spring we run an evening Tarpon trip that departs at 5 PM for the amazing Evening Tarpon Bite.

We are in the business of making our customers happy, so if we think the weather is not going to cooperate we’ll discuss our options with you.  If we can reschedule we will, but if that’s not an option we will refund 100% of any money paid and we’ll try again next time.

We are conveniently located in the heart of Down town Key west.  Within walking distance of most major downtown hotels and guesthouses.

Yes, however keeping different fish species may be seasonal – so ask your Captain which fish can be kept at the time of your charter. Your Captain will clean your fish and bag it up for you. We’ll even recommend restaurants that will cook your fresh catch for you!

Nope! Shadowcaster Charters provides all necessary licenses and permits for your days trip

You Bet! We have large Yeti coolers full of ice and bottled waters, you can just throw your beers or other drinks right in.

Maximum is 4 anglers and all trips are private

We offer 4hr, 6hr and 8hr trips throughout the year. Our 4hr Sunset Tarpon Trips are offered March-June.

Yes, every booking with Shadowcaster Charters gets a confirmation email detailing everything about your trip AND Capt John will contact you a day or 2 before your trip to go over any details needed.

Of course! If you’re on a charter with us and would like to extend your trip…we’ll be happy to accommodate as long as our booking calendar allows.

That is a tough one!!!It changes throughout the year–could be Tarpon, Snappers, Jacks, Sharks, Seat Trout, Barracudas just to name a few. But rest assured, our Captains at Shadowcaster are well prepared for the changing seasons and conditions to get it done.

Absolutely! Your Captain works extremely hard to provide guests with the best fishing experiences possible. Customarily, gratuities for a Captain are 20%+ of the cost of your charter.
